The Hawker Hurricane is a British single-seat fighter aircraft of the 1930s40s. The Hurricane was developed through several versions, into bomber-interceptors, fighter-bombers, ground support aircraft as well as fighters, and fought in all the major theaters of WW2.
No 94 squadron received the four Hurricanes MKIIc named 'MacRobert Fighters' by Lady MacRobert who had lost three of her sons serving in the RAF, one whilst flying with No 94. Their names and coats of arms were painted on the nose of the aircraft and pilot officer Arnold Walker was allocated Sir Roderic, which he flew during the North African campaign.
