The longer barrel of the Longslide provides a few advantages over normal length M1911s. A longer sight radius allows for more accurate shooting over long distances, and the gun is easier to “point and shoot.” The longer barrel length also enables more powerful .45 ACP loads to be used; slower burning powders require more barrel length to provide increased muzzle velocity.
This gun is probably best known for its appearance in the movie ‘The Terminator,’ where it was used by Arnold Schwarzenegger, equipped with a large laser sight attached to an accessory rail. The Longslide is chambered for .45 ACP and holds seven rounds in a single stack magazine. It is equipped with wraparound rubber grips and fully adjustable target sights.
