Arms and legs are setup with ik/fk switches using blend colour nodes. Spread and Curl attributes are used for the fingers and are set up using set driven keys on the Hand Controls.
Non deforming surfaces are rigid bound while the inner tubes which make up the body are wrap deformed by the low res cage which is smooth bound to the skeleton. Inluence objects are used to maintain volume.
Low res geo in one layer for animation and high res in another for rendering.
