This efficient low polygon animated model has a boned body with a weighted mesh (see above images). It is ideal if you need to create a flock of flapping birds as the low-poly count will not cause render problems. The bird has a flpping cycle that will repeat indefinitely if cycled. See the attached videos below to see the movement.
The original model is native to Maya 2008 - this version should be used where possible. The FBX is an export, but is good and retains the animation and textures.
The Maya and FBX downloads include versions of this bird with skeleton - one un-animated, the other animated with a flap cycle.
Please note that FBX is now very cross-compatible. There are FBX import plugins for most modern 3D applications.
