The Dragon is rigged in 3D max. Legs are FK. Body is animated along a path using spineIK. An animation, the one in the preview, is included in a separate max file.
To animate the dragon body, move the Vertex's in the spline named 'DragonPath' to the path you want the dragon to follow. Select 'Dragon_Bones_Spine_CTRL' and in motion>parameters, keyframe the percentage of % Along Path. Animate the legs, jaw and tail as usual with bones.
This rig can be modified and customized as needed.
Turbosmooth is applied and base mesh is only 68,000 polys.
No displacement maps are used, all renders are with geometry. HDRI not provided but you can use your own map.
