To render the Maya file in mental ray you will need to press the '3' button on the keyboard for the Smooth Mesh Preview.
The Maya file includes a lighting setup that uses 2 Spheres one for reflaction and the other for Final Gather , plus 2 directional lights. Correct color management is set in all the files in Maya.
