Two models of ball bearings are included, they have the same geometry but different textures: one bearing comes with grungy texture with scratches (placed in horizontal position on the preview) and the other one with 'perfect' brushed metal texture without scratches (placed in vertical position on the preview).
Both bearings come with high resolution 8192x8192 diffuse and bump maps (left and right rubber seals and left and right circlips use the same part of texture but everything else is unwrapped with non-overlapping UVs).
Model is available in the following formats:
Blender 2.70: With materials for Luxrender renderer. Whole scene with both bearings contains 8890 vertices, 9576 polygons (without dust, without mesh smoothing). Each bearing is made of 4250 vertices, 4425 polygons. Dust is a particle system.
3ds max 2014: Two .max files with Mental Ray and Luxrender materials. Parts of each bearing are separate objects and grouped together. Some bearings parts have dust on them as separate object (so you can easily remove dust object if you do not want dust). Mental Ray materials are iray-compatible - just assign iray renderer. Each bearing contains 4250 vertices, 4425 polygons, dust for each bearing is made of 20697 vertices, 17097 polygons. Whole scene with two bearings and dust contains 50284 vertices, 43770 polygons.
Maya 2013: With very simple phong textured materials.
All of above native formats use mesh smoothing for rendering - you can adjust or remove mesh smoothing if you do not plan to render high-resolution close-up. Additionally, following non-native formats are provided:
COLLADA .dae WAVEFRONT .obj FBX .fbx
Archive with each non-native formats contains two files: - Low-poly version without dust. Each bearing is made of 4250 vertices, 4425 polygons. - High-poly version with dust. Each bearing is made of 30004 vertices, 29986 polygons + 20697 vertices, 17097 polygons for dust particles (you can easily remove dust if you do not need it). High-poly version contains enough holding edges for mesh smoothing without creases.
All preview images rendered with mesh smoothing in Blender with Luxrender unless noted otherwise. Preview for 3ds max Mental Ray is also provided. Wireframe preview rendered in Blender with Mitsuba, wireframe scene available in native format only.
