This model is a very highly detailed and accurate representation of an AKs 74u. For animation purposes the bolt, fire selector and magazine are fully movable- the magazine is a seperate object from the gun but the fire selector and bolt are different elements.

    All images above apart from the shot with the blue background are direct screenshots taken from 3DS Max using a Direct X shader (in other words these shots are very close to how the gun will look in-game). All parts of the gun are named appropriately to make it as easy as possible to select and animate it. The gun is positioned in or relatively close to the center of the world and all pivot points are located at the correct location depending on the object.

At roughly 3,700 polys/7,100 triangles this model is well within the acceptable poly count range in terms of todays games and in comparison to a lot of other high detail assault rifle models. More detail was applied to the areas where a player would view at a closer distance such as around the sights and the back left side of the receiver.
