Made up up of a simple and consistent planar mesh to which the shell modifier and a smoothing group discriminating turbosmooth modifier is applied. That means that modification of the helmet shall be extremely easy. (As if it wasn't already good looking enough.)
The (Mental ray) material applied is excellent and looks good even close up.
An accompanying file XRefs the Helmet and provides the enviroment and lighting in the previews.
