Russian first generation anti-aircraft missile S-25 'Berkut' (Nato codename SA-1) entered into service in 1955 to protect Moscow from US bombers treat. It wasn't mobile or even semi-mobile SAM, but unlike all successors until SA-10, the SA-1 was able to engage multiple targets simultaneously. The SA-1 was replaced by the SA-10/20 SAM by the 90's (starting from 1982). There were produced about 32.000 missiles for 56 battalions, sited around Moscow as double ring.
