Accurate photorealistic universal 3d model of medium ripe yellow banana. The shapes and textures of this asset are recreated by using an ultra-res 3D scan of real-world Ecuador banana. The scanned mesh is manually retopologized to low-poly subdividable mesh. The possibility of assembling and disassembling the banana peel from/into parts, including animation (as seen on turntables), was taken into account during topology and UV Unwrap planning. Great details from the original scan are baked into a 16-bit displacement/height map while small ones were projected into a normal map. The 3d model is suitable for both super close-up still imagery creation in production renderers and real-time/game engine usage as a low-poly asset.
FEATURES - 3d scanned from the real-world banana - real-world size of 22 x 10 x 4 cm - peel and banana inside are separate models - ready for peeling animation - native format model with original modifiers stack & V-Ray - SSS materials - ultra-close-up production render ready - subdivision-ready - real-time ready - low-poly basemesh - meaningful hand-crafted topology - 100.00% quads - thoroughly unwrapped UVs - easily editable texture layout - texture set for classic Specular/Gloss workflow - texture set for PBR workflow - originally scanned ripe diffuse map - idealistic cleaned diffuse map - 8192x8192 maps for Diffuse, Normals, Displace - 2048x2048 maps for BaseColor, Glossiness, Roughness, Specular, Scattering, AO
NATIVE FORMAT Original model was created with 3ds Max 2017 and saved as 3ds Max 2014. The high-quality V-ray SSS materials are applied to the model. Intact uncollapsed modifiers stack. All modifiers were set up in the scene with centimeters as display and system units. Native format model is ready for rendering photorealistic close-up out-of-the-box: no additional tweaks required. Each part of the model has several subdivision iterations applied (Turbosmooth modifier). The iterations are ON at render but lowered in the viewport for better working performance. There are Displace modifiers with corresponding displacement maps at the top of the modifier stack. If you want to use a model in the secondary role of your scenes, it may be very useful to turn off Displace modifiers and decrease render subdivision iterations accordingly.
GENERIC FORMATS Provided OBJ and FBX formats for base low-poly mesh with the banana peel model in the default pose. Banana finger closed with left seams.
ADDITIONAL INFO Presentation images created using V-Ray 3.6. May save tens of hours of tedious work. Lighting, cameras, background, collected banana hand model, different colors and different sizes options are not provided.
