This is a Windmill palm modelled after similar trees found on the west coast of North America. Use many instanced rigs to populate a scene with intuitive animation and deformation controls. You can control the length, bend angle and twist of the tree, the length, bend angle and twist of each frond, and you have full control over all 'frondlings'. The animation controls are on a switch so you can work inward from the main controls and turn on the detail controls only when you need them. The controls are very easy to use - deformers are consolidated into the move and rotate channels, with a few explanatory extras in the channel box. The whole rig is can be positioned by tapping UP from any of the main controllers to the 'Palm Mover' Group Also included is the 'Windmill Palm Anim' file as an example of motion in a gentle breeze - the file is a 48 frame cycle and you can watch the video via the youtube link on this page. Designed for maximum usability the shading consists of self-shade colours. You can make adjustments to the shaders but no irregular shading is required, ready to render by Maya software or mental ray.
