MG42 is a game-ready asset originally modeled in 3DS Max 2018. This product is intended for game/real time/background use. This model is not intended for subdivision.

Renders done in Marmoset Toolbag 3. Default renders in 3ds Max will NOT look like the preview images. The Marmoset Toolbag scene IS included.

Update Dec. 3, 2017: Fixed an issue with the bipod so that it can now fold up correctly.

This firearm comes with a drum magazine, a portion of an ammo belt, and a 7.92x57mm cartridge.


Low Poly Model

The weapon is separated into objects to make animation easier. They are arranged in the following hierarchy:

Geometry count:

The geometry has been triangulated to ensure it shades as accurately as possible in game engines. So the polygon count and triangle count are the same. There's an extra download for quaded versions of these meshes.

* Unfortunately there's no universal standard for normal map orientation between game engines. If the normals don't look correct try inverting the green channel of the normal map in an image editor.
