This scene was built in Maya 2016 and rendered using Mental Ray Final Gather.
The weight bar and its weights are parented to a control curve to facilitate organization and animation. This control curve also has a custom attribute for Smooth. You can change this attribute for more subdivisions on all smoothed geometry. This attribute controls the smooth for all smoothed geometry in the scene
The weight tree also has a parent control curve but all smooth control is done on the weight bar ctrl.
There is a control curve for the bench leg press for animation purposes. Transforms other than rotate X are locked.
Poly and Vert counts are totals for all geometry in the scene with smooth set to 0. The model was rendered at a setting of 2.
There are bump maps for the weight plates and for the weight bar. Bump maps and psd are included.
