This is a detailed model of a Douglas C-47 Skytrain.
Both model as well as textures are prepared to work with extreme close up shots. If you're looking for a vfx production ready C-47 asset, this one will meet your expectations.
Geometry: This model includes all geometric details from the real bird. The engine is detailed enough to work in close-ups. All movable parts are pivoted. The model is setup in real world scale. Available formats: MayaBinary, Alembic, FBX, OBJ.
Textures: The entire model's Uvs are layed out as one large sequence of UDIM patches. There are UDIM sequences delivered for color, bump, reflection, glossiness and fresnel IOR channels.
This means, the entire asset will produce the material apperance as shown in the preview images, by simply assigning one single shader that is mapped with the delivered color, bump, reflection, glossiness and fresnel IOR textures.
It is therefore very easy to transfer the asset to any 3d package and renderer, which is capable of reading UDIM sequences (for example: Any package + Vray, Arnold, PRMan). It's only minutes to setup.
All UDIM patches are available as 1K or 2K version, either as tiled .tx files (readable by Vray and Arnold) or originals (.tif and .exr) which are readable everywhere. If you need to make adjustments to the textures, you might want to edit the originals and then convert them back to a tiled format for rendering. 88 UDIM patches at 2K resolution is a very large amount of texture resolution for one airplane and due to mipmapping it renders very efficient!
Shading/Lighting: The preview renders are done with Maya 2015 and Vray 3. The maya file includes shaders and lights as shown in the preview images (the ones in front of the black background). Due to the way how textures are organized (including all essential material channels) the shading is very quickly transferable to any PBR renderer.
Rigging: The maya file includes a control handle with custom attributes to easily drive animation for all movable parts (landing gear, elevator, rudder, ailerons, flaps, wheels).
