Here is a fully rigged character done in SubDs with Maya 4.0. The character has facial blendshapes denoting the expressions and phonemes. The skeleton is also rigged to the SubD mesh. As Maya SubDs can be slowly during animation playback, I suggest u build a proxy for that. Some of the Basic textures have been added to the zip file, which contains the texture images and the .mb file that should open in Maya 4.0 and above.
