This package contains a building from a typical suburban residential area. The model is created in Blender 2.6 and shipped in .blend, fbx and obj formats. The package includes garden, trees and a few other assets. All faces are UV unwrapped. The model is optimized for use with game engines. The geometry consists of 3142 verts and 5974 triangles.
The product includes the following UV-textures: - Diffuse color map with ambient shading and alpha channel: 2048x2048 pixels color image, with ambient light and shading baked into the texture. The baked in shading enables you to use this texture with a unlit shadeless/emission material in games to improve performance. - Tangent normal map (optional): A 2048x2048 pixels normal map is included mainly if you need to add some detail to the bricks of the building. Note that using normal maps requires lights in the scene. - Specular map (optional): A 2048x2048 pixels monochrome image is included if you need to add highlights to certain parts of the model like windows etc. Note that the triangular low poly structure isn’t optimal for specular materials in blender. You might need to subdivide the mesh and set the shading to smooth. The specular map also requires lights in the scene.
Importing the model: Blender users (2.5 and higher): Just open the .blend file. Other users: Import the .fbx or .obj files. Depending on your software the Scale might not be correct. If so just adjust the size of the model to your liking. Make sure that the textures are mapped to UV-coordinates and to influence the values described above.
Other models in this product line The model is the first in a line of buildings and assets for a complete suburban environment/scene. I am currently working on more buildings and a road system which will be available soon.
