This checklist is designed to give you a comprehensive overview of hitting the CheckMate Pro certification specification. It is broken out into the major phases of what to do while building your model, as well as what to do when preparing and submitting your model for CheckMate Pro certification.
Many of the links within the checklist will lead you to the relevant Checkmate Training pages. You are also encouraged to review the entire CheckMate Pro specification to get a deeper understanding of each requirement.
- Your model must open without any errors (missing textures or 3rd party plug-ins)
- Real-world scale in any unit of measurement
- Only quads and tris, no N-Gons, fewest tris possible
- No visible UV stretching or obvious seams
- Model positioned at the origin [0,0,0]
- Model’s transforms reset
- No isolated vertices, coincident vertices, no coincident faces
- No poles with more than 5 connecting edges
- For Subdividable models, holding/support edges need to be present to retain shape after subdivision
- Ensure your model is either a scene or set, but not a collection, which can’t be certified
- For Rigged objects, the rig must be named descriptively and the rig must function as expected
- For Animated objects, animation must play smoothly and there should be no spikes in the animation graph
If you follow the guidelines listed above, you will be far more likely to pass CheckMate inspections on your first submission attempt. Of course, mistakes happen, and in those cases, our inspectors will reach out to you personally with specific fixes to help you gain that important CheckMate certification status.
