Description
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien ('flying swallow') was a Japanese World War II fighter aircraft used by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force. The first encounter reports claimed Ki-61s were Messerschmitt Bf 109s: further reports claimed that the new aircraft was an Italian design, which led to the Allied reporting name of 'Tony', assigned by the United States War Department.

The 68 Sentai was formed in March of 1942 and based at Wewak, New Guinea. The 68 Sentai was the first squadron of the IJAAF to introduce the Ki-61 Hien. This model represents the airplane of Captain Shogo Takeuchi transferred from 64th Sentai, April 1942, KIA 15 December 1943 with 30+ victories.

Modelled in 1:1 real world scale, all parts are conveniently named and separated, textures and specular maps are 2048x2048 pixels and it has the following key-frame animations already in place:
Landing gears
Vents
Canopy
