This is a fully rigged real-scale model of Traxxas Revo 3.3 remote controlled car. It is ideal for use in high definition animations and presentations.
The presentation images were rendered in VRay with a HDRI environment map for more realism.
It requires VRay plug-in for the main file and there is also a mental ray file included.
Units used: centimeters.
The entire model took many months to model, texture and rig and was made in 3ds max 2010 with VRay (x64 bit). Each individual piece was researched and modeled accordingly and they all mix and work in perfect harmony.
All objects have materials. For best photo realistic results I recommend using the VRay scene, with a HDRI environment added to it. There is only one texture included (3200 x 3200), which is unwrapped on the body of the car and on the wheels as a bump map.
The rigging system for the car is very complex, as the suspension structure is not a conventional one, but it works flawlessly and it's controlled only through a few helpers. *Helpers' only active transforms are the ones needed, to prevent moving or rotating incorrectly. *Instructions for the rig included.
The model consists of hundreds of different pieces and they are all organized in layers. Most of the pieces have their work steps added as modifiers which is very helpful if any modifications are needed.
The polygon count I gave is for the geometry without MeshSmooth, but for certain objects I did not remove MeshSmooth as it was followed by other important modifiers.
The case (body) can be removed and every mechanism and piece inside is modeled and functional as in the real Traxxas Revo 3.3. *Some RC car enthusiasts prefer to have the case removed for better aeration.
All objects (including helpers) in the scene are properly named for easy find and use. 100% scale for all objects. (There is a slight change in scale for a few helpers but they do not affect the model in any way whatsoever).
I have also included the illustrator vectorized map so you can add, remove or modify graphic elements in the texture.
