There have been various design revisions of these vault doors, spanning many decades. The reference design can be spotted in countless TV episodes, and movies.
The model is built up of 30 objects. All 30 objects are closed edge single element that have been carefully checked for errors and sculpted in detail, instead of using linked objects or attached elements to give the appearance of detail like some similar priced models do.
A lot of detailed work has gone into the creation of this model,
TurboSmooth is only needed for extremely close up renders of bolts etc, and there will be no texture pulling or overlapping when applied.
The doorframe components have been kept separate so that different configurations can be made.
All pivot points have been set up correctly for animation using the swing arm to move all the door components out from the frame.
I decided to add some extra features that are not found in the older reference designs, such as shaft holes for the locking pins on the rear inner doorframe, and a foot platform with grips.
File contains the vault door and frames only, the floor tiles and wall shown in the renders are not included.
