Everything comes ready, just open and render. The material on the earth is setup to fade from season to season. (Comes with file that have no animation as well) It is setup so that one frame is one day. This mean the animation has 365 frames total, however it is easy to increase or decrease the length. The demo of it's animation above is the material on a simple plane. Please note that it is about five times faster than the one in the file.
Earth is made of three layers each a different Geospheres. Has one Sphere for the ground, clouds, and atmosphere. This makes it easy to remove layers, such as earth's clouds or atmosphere. This also makes it possible to anime the planet in a realistic way.
By changing the diffuse level and color you can change the look and feel of the planet's atmosphere. (see example above) This can be used to make many different effects.
The material for the earth is already set to show the earth night texture in non-lit areas. The cloud material is set up to become transparent in dark areas.
Scene comes with Geospheres that has a star map applied to it. This sphere acts as a great 360° background.
Number of Polygons and Vertices can be increase or decreased in 3Ds max file by changing number of segments on Geospheres.
