Description
A reproduction of the head of the Constantine Colossus.

This is the retopologised version of the model. A Zbrush 'decimated' version is available for the same price.

The Colossus of Constantine was a colossal acrolithic* statue of the late Roman emperor Constantine the Great (circa 280–337 AD) that once occupied the west apse of the Basilica of Maxentius, near the Forum Romanum in Rome. It's suggested that the statue dates to 312 AD, with substantial reworking after 325 AD. The marble portions of the statue came to light in the late 1400's and placed in the nearby Palazzo dei Conservatori Courtyard by Michelangelo.

*The head, hands & feet, sculpted in marble, rested upon a body sculpted of wood, brick & guilded bronze.
