TurboSquid is the world’s leading seller of 3D Models and 3D Software Plug-ins. The company was founded in 2000, and has kept its small company mindset of cooperation and teamwork. Our home office is in downtown New Orleans, but our business is completely online and web-based.
The work is challenging; the team is bright. It’s a chance to be a part of the New Orleans recovery, but to work for a company that could be anywhere. The company’s core business is supplying a platform and marketplace to the 3D artist community. On the selling side, thousands of 3D artists upload and publish their work as “stock 3D” products, much like how Getty Images sells stock photography. On the buying side are a million registered members who purchase the files with credit cards and complete the transaction by downloading the products. Of the money that flows into its bank account from these electronic processes, TurboSquid takes 50% of the sale price and pays the rest out as a monthly royalty to the artists.
