Turbo Squid’s GameFlood Selected as New Technology Product of the Year
Louisiana Technology Council and Greater New Orleans, Inc. honor Turbo Squid at annual eWard Banquet
(New Orleans, LA – November 3, 2006) - TurboSquid, home to the world’s largest collection of royalty-free 3D assets, was recently honored with the New Technology Product of the Year award at the third annual eWards Banquet. The Louisiana Technology Council and Greater New Orleans, Inc. (GNO, Inc.) selected the winners for each category and hosted a luncheon gala honoring technology innovators in the New Orleans area.
Turbo Squid was honored with the New Technology Product of the Year prize for GameFlood, the company’s newest product. GameFlood (www.gameflood.com) is the web’s the premiere destination for gamers to find, share and play add-on game content. GameFlood also provides a workflow solution for game content developers with its Workshop project collaboration system. Workshop features a file system, task and bug tracking, public and private forums, webspace, messaging and more. All of these features help to simplify workflow for developers and promote efficient teamwork.
GameFlood was chosen as the winner among a group of highly qualified nominees due to its strong potential for international sales growth, as well as its potential to be a “transforming technology” for future innovation in the interactive entertainment industry.
The 2006 gala was a particularly meaningful event, celebrating the resurgence of Louisiana’s innovative spirit in the wake of 2005’s devastating hurricanes. Pam Meyer, Director of Business Development for GNO, Inc. saw the large number and high quality of nominations as “positive signs that the region’s knowledge-driven economy is still here, is active and will continue to grow.” Turbo Squid co-founder and President Matt Wisdom accepted the award for his company, noting: “I believe that every individual and company represented here is not simply competing for awards, but rather that we are all cooperating in the effort to rebuild and move New Orleans forward.”
