(Updated! Additional texture packs were added. Normal and specular maps were added.)
A collection of low-poly, game ready space insects. The insects were all created using similar style and patterns, giving you the feeling that they have a common origin/evolved from each other. Featuring alien shapes, bone-armored bodies, tentacles, and schyte-claws, these creatures evoke fear and awe whenever they appear. Perfect enemies to a space-based arcade shooter or strategy.
Low polygon numbers ensure that game performance won't suffer, while high quality textures, normal and specualr maps give the much-needed details that players appreciate.
large one: 1470
baby one: 456
LOD models are roughly one third of these numbers.
Textures are 512*512 jpg-s (png also included with sightly better quality, however jpeg is also okay), except the largest one, which has 1024*1024 texture. All creatures use their own texture, no multi-materials or other tricks that may cause confusion or incompatibility.
UV allows the creatures to have non-symmetrical texture on most of their body where symmetry would have been noticeable. Smaller parts (claws, etc), where symmetry is not noticeable, use mirrored uv.
Normal and specular maps included. Most of the renders were done without using them, but you can notice these maps on the pictures labeled as 'viewport picture'. These are straight from 3ds max's viewport.
Files, textures, materials and objects are all properly named, models were reset-xformed, vertices welded, etc; Artist is a game developer with vast knowledge of possible model and engine issues, and tried to avoid tricky or non-standard solutions :p
Created in 3ds max 9.
