Description
The last version of the Stuart tank evolved at the same that the M3A3 Stuart was being developed. The new model, designated as the M5A1, used the redesigned extended turret developed for the M3A3 that would accommodate a radio set. A ventilator was added between the driver’s hatches and an escape hatch was added in the floor. Later production M5A1s had a shield added to the turret around the machine gun mount. A 'bustle box' was added to the rear for stowage which necessitated the tool stowage to be rearranged. M5A1 series kept the 37mm gun although it was obsolete and ineffective against the latest German tank designs. This tank was best suited as rear mop-up action and troop support. It was used against the Japanese in the Pacific Theater until the end of the war. Production stopped in June 1944 as it was being phased out by the M24 Chafee. 6810 M5a1s were produced during WWII.

A Scene file and all textures are included. The model will look like the one rendered.
