Some species are REALLY big - they can reach up to 2 feet in length! Pythons are very brightly colored snakes, like this one, with jaguarish spots.   

Most species are available in exotic pet trade. In some cultures people eat pythons' meat. Skin of the most beautiful ones goes to boots and purses.
