COLIMO is a postproduction tool, that was designed with the primary target of change scenes after the rendering process. This application is not the same as Motiva SOAP, it is his big brother.
CHANGE LIGHTS, COLORS AND TEXTURES using prerendered images as base you could change colors and textures and his influence over the whole scene including raytraced reflections,raytraced refractions and GI bleeding. For better comprenhension visit the Videos & Demo section.
RENDERER ENGINE INDEPENDENT it don’t handles real 3D data, 3D meshes are not needed anymore, you can share your project without share your meshes! It only takes some prerendered images and some passes of our (fast) MR special shader.
FULLY GPU ACCELERATED all the process are made in your GPU throught 32 bit internal buffers, taking the fixed size of the viewport but it can save your images in the full input size.
IS COLIMO COMPATIBLE WITH MY WORKFLOW? since COLIMO uses 2D data as input (hdr or exr files prefered) is renderer independant! Unfortunatly a special pass of Mental Ray is needed so you will need have it installed too (default on Maya, 3DMax and Softimage). In the future this pass could be replaced by a Thea Render pass so it will be compatible with Sketchup, Blender and Cinema4D too.
SO I NEED TO DO MY RENDERS WITH MENTAL RAY? no, you only need to do a Mental Ray pass with the provided shader, the renders could be done with any other renderer.
HOW I COULD CREATE MY PROJECTS? look at the workflow videos on the Videos & Demo section. Automatic workflow is currently available in 3DMax using the provided script. Softimage and Maya version will be available in the future.
COULD I IMPORT 3D DATA (OBJ, 3DS...)? no, 3D data is not handled, you only need to work with images.
