This download includes a fully looping, 32 frame animated torch-flame effect, suitable for games, cg animation and compositing,
when you want a faster and easier solution than rendering a full particle/combustion system.
The image files includes all frames separately (256x512 pixels) AND collected on a single texture page (2048x64 pixels), alpha included in the tga's.
As a bonus there is also a 3dsMax file with a convenient look-at constraint setup for quick integration into your 3d-scene when needed. (Note: Can also be used in any 3d/compositing software).

Tips:
- If using this effect in a realtime application: Have the billboard/image plane object face the camera (lock the vertical axis), and offset the plane from its pivot towards the camera, to avoid the flames intersecting with the object it orbits around.
- When rendering in a 3d application or in a game client, set the material transparency to be additive.
- Adding sparks and/or particle smoke makes a great combination, and can produce a nice looking and believable effect without long rendering times and complex simulations.
- When you have several instances of this effect onscreen simultaneously, set different phase (playback offset) values to avoid synchonized playback of the effect.
