You can use this material for any screen you wish. It has some extra attributes that help you tweak the look. These are: 1. resolution (u and v) to set how many pixels the screen has. I recommend using an image with the same resolution as the settings for best results. default: 1024x768 2. LCD - this basicaly turns on or off the flicker effect in animations. It's off for LCD, and on for non-LCD. 3. refresh_rate - this determines how often the beam of light pases across the screen in one second. Default: 60Hz 4. brightness_multiplier and brightness_gain to adjust the overall brightness of the screen. First is a multiplier, the second is a value that is added. Default: 1, respectively 0.I recomend using mental ray for renders (and increase the antialiasing for best results). If you want to use maya software you might want to turn on filtering on the pixel_map and image texture files within maya (they're off by default). Also by using mental ray with final gather, and increasing the brightness you can iluminate your scene with this material (for those in the dark hacker scenes). To change the image just point the image file within maya to whatever image, image sequence or movie on your hard drive. |
