Maya files (ma/mb) includes 2 horse resolution meshes (high and low poly) in separate layers:

horse_low: 4174 faces
horse_high: 14118 faces
saddle hi-poly (reins/bridle see pics-): 25074

Hair, eyelashes, mane and tail are all polygonal with trans map, so you don't need any plugin.

It comes complete with high resolution textures for both brown and black color:
