Wollemis are species who first appeared in the Jurassic and were believed extinct, until in 1994 David Noble, a Wildlife Officer, found some in a groove in a sheltered place in the Wollemi Park (Australia). The most remarkable aspect of this tree is the bark, which looks like a conglomerate of little balls, often covered with resin. The Wollemi pine was a diffused inhabitant of the conifer forests that offered shelter and food to many vegetarian dinosaurs of the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
