The meshes have a turbo-somoth modifier applied to them. The most prominent pieces of geometry have a turbo-smooth iteration of 3. The rest of the meshes have a turbo-smooth iteration of 2. Reduce turbosmooth iterations where you deem fit to reduce the overall polygon count of your scene.

Maya :::....
The Mental ray version of the product is in smooth mesh preview mode which mental ray can render with no problem.

The software version of the product has meshes that have been converted from smooth mesh preview to polygons. This is necessary as Maya software cannot render smooth mesh previews.The subdivision level of each mesh can be changed in the attribute editor.
