The topology is studied and modeled for best deformation when animated.
The optimal sub-D level for this model is 1-2 subdivision iterations,just apply a subdivision algorithm to the base mesh to smooth it.
The model was originally modeled in 3ds Max and rendered with the default scanline renderer.
