| Here is a model of the Panzerkampwagen VI Ausf. E Sd. Kfz. 181 Tiger I. The Tiger I was a heavy tank used by Germany armed with the dreaded '88', a high velocity anti-aircraft gun that was also capable of defeating any tank the allies produced. The Tiger was also incredibly hard to defeat due to its heavy, expensive armor, that was made from much stronger rolled homogeneous nickel-steel plate. Testament to the Tiger's battlefield strength can be found in the battle of Villers-Bocage when Michael Wittmann's Tiger singlehandedly defeated 25 British tanks,14 half tracks and 14 Bren gun carriers. This model is of the most widely-used type of Tiger I, the mid-production version. The mid-production version contained many improvements over the early Tigers, including a much better cupola for the commander, where the tall direct-vision type with flip-up hatch, was replaced by a low-profile periscope type with rotating hatch. There is also a mount for an anti-aircraft MG-34 on a rotation ring. This model is highly detailed with plenty of small latches, hinges, etc. The Cinema 4D version is fully textured and ready to go. If you own the Jenna plug in, you'll be happy to find that this model includes my EZ-Track rig. Using EZ-Track, you can animate the entire track length, wheels, etc. on each side of the tank simply be rotating ONE null per side on its P axis. That's over 200 parts being animated with just one null! Quick and easy to animate with beautiful results. Cidertank's Jenna v2 plug in is REQUIRED for EZ-Track to work. There is also a basic Cinema 4D version included in case you don't own Jenna. However, the tracks are not animated in that version. The Cinema 4D versions are optimized (NURBS, etc.) so they are easy to tweak for battle damage, etc. The other versions have higher poly counts and are not animated nor do they have textures. However, insignia and number bitmaps are included so you can create your own decals. =) |
