A pair of high-quality, extremely low-triangle cabinets.
Description
This is a pair of high-quality, extremely low-triangle cabinets ideal for use in the growing market of 3D Gameboy Advance, Pocket PC, Palm, and Cell Phone games. Contents of the cabinets can be varied and are visible while closed, which creates a nice and complex-feeling appearance for what is really a rather simple model. The model itself would feel at home in anything from a Resident Evil style mansion to a dusty old antique shop. It is modeled to appropriate size in metric and completely textured to allow proper viewing from all angles.
        There are two versions of the cabinet included in the package. The openable cabinet is an interactive environment model featuring an opening and shutting glass display door. The unopenable version is less versatile, but features an even lower triangle and vertex count and is less taxing on resources. Models are available in a variety of formats (MAX, 3DS, ASE), all of which include texture maps in .gif and .psd formats.
        The texture maps come in both high and low-detail versions, which can be seen in the thumbnail images posted above. Each detail level was designed for high quality at modest pixel resolutions and to be an easy fit into an existing color palette and memory budget.
        A special opacity texture is included for previewing the models within 3D Studio or other modeling packages that cannot make use of the transparent index within a .gif file. There may be viewing errors when previewed with 3D Studio due to the way 3D Studio bilinear filters every texture in the viewport, even when nearest neighbor filtering is set in the material properties. These errors would manifest themselves as cracks in the texture tile seams, or soft white halos around pixels bordered by the other pixels with the transparent index. These errors would not show up in-game. For an accurate preview, render a view with the 3D Studio scanline renderer, which does support the proper texture filtering modes.
