This transforming robot was originally created in MAX 5.1 for a competition with a tight deadline. The treads to not operate, they are a static object. The QUADS (thighs) and SHINS use a LINK CONSTRAINT to assist in the transformation between the three configurations: FLIGHT MODE: Normal transportation mode between work locations... fairly compact, engine ports exposed. MINING MODE: The stone-pounding pistons are aligned with a location in front of the head. COMBAT MODE: The back of the head becomes the front, mining pistons are withdrawn and gunports open to expose four railguns. The animation included with this model transforms: FLIGHT MODE (f 0) to MINING MODE (f 100) then COMBAT MODE (f 200). |
