This is an early morning shot of the sun rising above Monument Valley, Arizona. The rock formations are named Mittens (for obvious reasons) and Merrick Rock. Monument Valley is a common location for filming westerns, especially 40 years or so ago when it was used repeatedly by director John Ford for his films starring John Wayne. This was my campsite.....imagine waking-up to a view like that!
