| This includes two Max files (krypton.max and dorbital.max) in the zip files with the textures I used for protons, neutrons, and electrons. The krypton model has 48 neutrons and 36 protons in the nucleus and 36 electrons. It is split into the following layers: 1s/2s, 2p, 3d, 3p, 3s, 4s, nucleus, and cam/lights. The electrons follow the sample paths for each orbital. If you want a lesser atom, simply delete parts of the atom one by one (orbital, electron, proton, neutron) starting with the orbital 3d, then 4s, 3p, 3s, 2p, 2s, and 1s. There are 45,948 vertices and 18 lights. It was animated using the curve editor so the electrons will follow the paths no matter how long the animation is. The D-Orbital model has a nucleus of 11 protons and neutrons. The axis are labeled and all the possible orbitals are below. It is animated so each orbital rises up, rotates to all possible positions, and drops allowing the next orbital shape to come up. Here there are 25,761 vertices and four lights (a much smaller model). |
