Description
This is a model of the famous Sea Harrier FA MkII, otherwise known as the marine Jump Jet. It is renowned for its unique Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) capabilities; ideal for use on-board aircraft carriers and gaining access to combat arenas with limited airfields. Livery: United Kingdom (UK) Royal Navy (RN) Fleet Air Arm. This is the air-force of the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom. The Harrier is the first, and most successful, of it's kind of aircraft. It is able to take-off, land and hover like a helicoper and yet travel at high speed, carrying a veriety of weapons for multi-role warfare. Even though this aircraft is almost 50 years old (prototype development started in 1958), it still has certain capabilities and functions that the latest STOVL (Short Take Off Vertical Landing) aircraft just don't have! Model includes: long range fuel tanks (drop tanks), air-to-air missiles, animated landing gear and extended radar 'dome' nose (marine variant).
