| Maya globe with beveled edges, extruded land masses. 57,512 polygons all quads. Very clean geometry and normals. Very good resolution for a globe mesh with bevels. Front faces, bevels, sides, back bevels, and back faces are assigned to different shading groups. Land masses separate. The materials are the same as in the photos, however, the color effect is added by the addition of colored lights reflecting off of various gray materials. It’s a nice little trick I learned from a fellow animator some years ago. The lights are not included in the files as this particular look was done for a client. However, adding rich colored lights of your choice will quickly result in the same effect to your taste. 57,512 polygons all quads for a sweet render. |
