| This is a set of three of London’s most beautiful and revered cathedrals. The set, in 3D Studio MAX 4 format, includes; 1) An exterior model of the famous St Paul’s Cathedral in London. Designed by sir Christopher Wren between 1675 and 1710. Built in late Renaissance to Baroque Classical style, it replaced the old cathedral which burnt down in the fire of London 1666, and now stands as the largest in England.
2) An exterior model of Westminster Abbey, which was built between 1045 and 1400. It is possibly one of the most famous landmarks in London, built in English Gothic style, and hosts most Royal coronations, burials and state occasions.
3) An exterior model of the main façade and tower of Westminster Cathedral. Built in early Christian Byzantine style, it was designed by Victorian architect, john Francis Bentley in 1903. This set is from the London Landmarks series, 33 of London’s most famous buildings and monuments, available separately from Turbo Squid. Other sets include London Government Buildings, London Museums, Prince Albert’s Kensington, Royal London Buildings and London Landmarks. All of the models are in editable mesh format, with no materials applied. Some of the larger models have grouped, instanced units to keep file sizes low. The lighting system featured in the preview windows is not included, but is available for free from Turbosquid. The system uses a special configuration of shadow mapped lights to simulate the effects of global illumination, without complicated photon tracing and at a fraction of the render time.
