| This is an exterior model of the great Royal Albert Hall in Kensington, London. Conceived by Albert, Prince Consort, the 5000 seater auditorium was completed in 1871 and opened by Queen Victoria. The Royal Albert Hall was part of a massive master-planning vision headed by Prince Albert consisting of exhibition, arts, academic and scientific showcase in Kensington. Other buildings in this heroic development include the Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and eventually the Albert Memorial (all models are available from the London Landmarks Collection, a set of 33 of London’s most famous buildings and monuments, available as a set, or separately from Turbo Squid.) |
