Simple eye lid

Hi cam you please help i feel really silly asking this cos it probably is really simple to create.

How do you go about creating a simple capped sphere, basically for a simple eye lid so i can rotate it over the eye ball?

Basically like a hollowed out egg cup !!!

create a sphere, apply slice modifier then chose remove bottom, apply shell modifier with the needed amount.

To make life a little easier, if you use a standard sphere it has slice built into itself...

Make a sphere, look under the modify tab, check the Slice On box and animate the Slice From and Slice To parameters (usually only need to animate one once you're set up)...
