If you haven't done so yet you may want to do a support ticket here for the category of Plugins...

It works on xp and vista, but not on 7.
i hope that someone could already move on this problem, and have the solution.

Seems like the authorization page is blocked by something.
It goes like this just a second after the normal authorization page appear.
actually it works also on Windows 2008 ... so - not working on 7 is very strange.

Just checked it.

it's really pity that none of products of SintiSati is supported under Windows 7 or Windows 2008 R2.

Let's hope for fast patching this problem

With many new releases of Windows, it is sometimes necessary for applications to become compatible they need to be recompiled. Recompiling an application, including plugins, requires access to the source code.

As 3ds Max versions 9, 2008 and 2009 are only designed to run on XP or Vista, it does not surprise me that a plugin designed for versions 9, 2008, or 2009, might not work on 2008 Server or 7.

Is the author of the plugin aware of the issue? Have you contacted them?

Someone told me there's a bug in licensing after 31 december 2008.

There is a fix (max 2008):

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=12317438&linkID=9241178

probably there's one for other versions.

Hope it helps

As Andy said you need to open a support ticket because this is a max room and that's all we deal with. If TS saids it does not work with that operating system then there is nothing you can do. you can uninstall and format your hard drive and put XP or vista on your computer or just uninstall fume fx and live with out it

Windows 7 Beta 1 is certainly not a platform to be using in a production environment, you're probably looking at a release date in Q1 2010. The bugs will be plentiful, the support minimal, and drivers scarce. You're certainly better off running under XP SP3 or even Vista, though performance wise I still don't think you'll beat XP. I wouldn't even consider using Windows Server 2008 (or really, any server software) for graphics production primarily because Server OS's generally place priority on network performance, timeslicing and memory allocation rather than CPU power and graphics performance.

it doesn't surprise me at all that there aren't patches for W7 yet, these will emerge after the release of the OS, not a year before :)

i wont back at any price down to Vista
( XP - will never be brought back to my PC - NEVER ! ( this lazzy stuped OS ) ! )

anyway - Server 2008 is much better as performance than any XP or such low life crap.

This seems to be a windows internet explorer 8 beta error; since it gets shipped in Windows 7 beta by default.

I don't think they'll add support to that any time soon since it's a beta product.

let me know if you found a way.

OK well just so you know, Windows Server 2008 and Vista share the same kernel. So take that in consideration before you wave that anti-Vista flag ;)

I still say XP 64 is the way to go.

Windows Vista 64 works perfect for this activation method.

On Windows 7, it is NOT an IE8 problem. I removed IE8 completely from my computer and still get the same problem. The problem lies on incompatibility between DCPFLICS and Windows 7.

I turned all firewall protection OFF and gave DCPFLICS special permissions to allow it to do anything and still got the same problem. There is might be a way to find out what is blocking the connection..

Either way, TurboSquid needs to update their DCPFLICS Authorization software before the release of Windows 7. MS gave developers the opportunity to test for free for this purpose so that by the time W7 comes out, all drivers and sofware are working fine.

TurboSquid, please update DCPFLICS to support Windows 7 ASAP!!!

I am installing nPower Tanslators Pro BTW...uses same activation method.

Got it to work.

Download this..

www.nPowerSoftware.com/IE8Compatible_DCPFLICS_Components.zip

Replace both files located within the 3D max Program folder.... youll need to search for them to find exact location.
