Hi, don't have Maya myself, but as fare as I know Maya can import the FBX file format. Exporting from C4D it seams like the FBX format is the most complete alternative. You should try this first. Also, before exporting to FBX it might be a good idea to convert all objects like NURBS, Array and Symmetry objects to clean polygonal objects. This way you minimise the risk of "loosing" details in the export process.
