your making it to difficult for yourself if you just use the Quad Patch, then the spacewarp wave and then bind the Quad Patch and wave together set the peramitors for the wave turn the autokey on take the phase to 2.0 turn autokey off then move the slider you'll see the wave move. to see it move go to the render scene put a got in active time segs and click the render this will show you your wave moving. i have did a quick and dirty one on you tube. it only going to be 3 seconds... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YZYIBmft9s

because i'm very plane person. i dont like to make issues or make cold war . you are  welcome for giving suggestions hopefully in future
we shall come together on some points.

you ask for help i did not ask you for help, if you don't like my work who cares. I just there is a easier simple way of doing that tutorial. If it was not to hard for you why would you be in a fourm asking for help? and fyi I followed that tutorial and i found a simper way of doing it.

did i say i was underestimate you? No i did not so get your facts right. I just said i found a simper way of doing it.

I don't care what you think of my work as i said "I don't care" that's why i own my own company and have enough clients.

if you go to a beach then you will see the sea moving all the time

ok, Vray or Mental Ray or any similar Raytracing renderer DO NOT MAKE ANY SHORE OR ANY WATER OR SEA OR OCEAN effects in scenes .

they are only for rendering in high quality of Global Illuminiation and to simulate the nature light ambiance .

i noticed recently that there is game engine may simulate the shores using DirectX 9.0 and DirectX10 , the result is very impressing really , and the sea is alive ( realtime render ) . but the engine costs an immaginary ammount of thousands of Dollars .

the way of making sores or waves in seas and other water realated is mentioned before , the quad or tri patch is your request .

animating the patch means making the sea alive .

how to make a sea :

1) create a plane , with noisy bump , raytrace or simple reflection , bluish and very specular surface

this might be the sea

2) create another plane ( patch is prefered ) apply on it the texture of coming_wave with alpha channel and other stuffs

3) animate this wave ( sea shore ), you might use sinusoidal functions or similiar to loop the animation with no seam .

4) copy this shore

5)spread it at the extremety of the first plane (the sea ) you made

6) voilaaaaaaaaaaaa , now you have your alive sea
