Question about the EULA
Posted 04-Apr-2008 8:20 AM

Can someone explain this to me?  This is a quote from the EULA:

"The Seller grants to the Member who either purchases license rights to Content via a Valid Sale, or downloads freely available Content submitted by the Seller, a non-exclusive, worldwide, license in any medium now known or hereinafter invented to: (a) reproduce, post, promote, license, sell, publicly perform, publicly display, digitally perform, or transmit for promotional and commercial purposes..."

But then later:

"5. Resale.

The resale or redistribution by the Member of any Content obtained from TurboSquid, whether For Sale or freely available for download, whether part of a Valid Sale or not, is expressly prohibited unless it is Incorporated Content as licensed above."

Why does one line say you can sell the models you buy and the next one say that you can't?  I know that resale is not allowed, but this does seem kind of contradictory...

That mean you can use it for commercial projects. For example you can sell a game where models were used (in non extract way). But you can't resale a model as it is. In this case we, who are vendors, call it "stolen model".

Ok, that is what I initially thought, but I found the wording confusing.  Thanks!

That's because it was written by a lawyer. :)
