I didn't notice a similar post else where, so pardon if there was. However, I've manage to come along a group in my school that's trying to build a game, the lead man wants me to texture for him. I'm fairly new at this but I've been viewing some 3ds max/zbrush/adobe tutorials, so I get the idea. Now please before telling me I should go back to the dude and tell him to give me models, is there a way around it? I just want him to like my texture, later I can always fit it to whatever model he's got. Yes more work, but hey this is school sponsered and student ran half of them donno WTH they doing, and this guy we're just going on an "idea" and running with it.
So I'm just wondering should I make my own make-shift model? (starting 3d modeling class monday) or just come up w/ some 2d pattern on adobe and pray it looks ok when thrown on the model? I'd really hate to do that because w/o the speculation I can get from max I won't know where MY errors are.
Any help would be much appericated, and sweet site.. think this place might help me through this school.
